A man of tremendous strength when men had to stand alone in their beliefs
Brilliant, eloquent polemic by an all too forgotten American literary genius and atheist. Wonderful style of 19th century American essayists. As good as Mark Twain.
Definitely makes an open minded person think about the accuracy of such an important book that serves as the foundation for the religious believes of so many people world wide.
Robert G. Ingersoll looks at the Bible in a comparative light with modern society. He asks rhetorical questions which make the Bible appear to be utter nonsense at the least and the worst book to plague humanity at the most.
Wow, what an eye opener. I actually read it twice. Science=truth. Religion=not truth.
I would love to have met and conversed with this man! This is one set of his many writings that everyone should read. It is not a very long book, but it's packed with clear thinking.
Tears apart the bible and it's god with such simplicity and sound logic. Exposes the god of the bible as a monster. Exposes jesus as the bad, violent, and insane character that he is. SHows why jehovah is NOT a god of love and that jesus is NOT an example to follow. Highly recommend.
